Jax Jungle Tips and Tricks
- Jax loses most early game Scuttler duels versus the "meta" enemy junglers. As such, you should almost always focus on power-farming and scaling because level six and Divine Sunderer are his main power spikes.
- Leap Strike can be used to jump onto allied champions, minions and wards. This can be incredibly useful when you're trying to run away or catch someone. Always have the ward item trinket and practice jumping to it so that you can execute it flawlessly when needed.
- Avoid fighting versus champions with higher movement speed and mobility (Lillia for example) as Jax deals the highest DPS from consecutive attacks.
- Counter Strike is Jax's best skill for outplaying opponents. Carefully timing its usage can allow you to completely negate all damage done by basic attacks— this becomes great during teamfights because you can bait the enemies into attacking you and then turn on Counter Strike to negate the damage and stun them in the process.
Challenger Jax Jungle Clear
Pro Jax Jungle Path—full clear with a Red Buff start
- The Pro Jax Jungle Path focuses on a full clear because Jax takes time to scale and start getting powerful, even though he has good ganking capabilities even at low levels. The route starts on Red Brambleback which you'll be killing with Counter Strike at level one. Once it is dead, unlock Empower next and proceed to clear the Krugs and Raptors. Doing these gives you level three, unlocking Leap Strike. Move onto the Murk Wolves next, after which you'll be killing the Blue Sentinel and Gromp. These will give you enough experience for level four, so upgrade Empower. Lastly, check the river for Rift Scuttler and after killing it gank a nearby lane or invade the enemies' Raptor camp.
- This Jax Jungle Clear is very common and can be turned into a leashless Raptor start if needed, just go Raptors → Krugs → Red Brambleback instead.
Jungle Route Summary
Fast Gank Jax Jungle Path—full clear with a lvl 3 gank from a Raptor start
- This Jax Jungle Path allows you to do a level three gank while still maintaining a full clear. The route starts on Raptors which you'll be killing with Counter Strike at level one. Once they are dead, unlock Empower next and proceed to clear the Red Brambleback and Krugs. Doing these gives you level three, unlocking Leap Strike. You've now got a crowd-control spell and a gap closer, so it's time to gank a nearby lane. Afterwards you can recall back to base to buy new items and move onto the Murk Wolves next. After these you'll be killing the Blue Sentinel and Gromp. These camps will give you enough experience for level four, so upgrade Empower. Lastly, check the river for Rift Scuttler and after killing it gank a nearby lane or invade the enemies' Raptor camp.
- This Jax Jungle Clear can capitalize on mistakes from the enemy team such as overextending early in the game. It's extremely effective but at the potential cost of losing the entire Blue side of Jax's jungle.
Jungle Route Summary
Jax Jungle Path—full clear with a Blue Buff start
- This Jax Jungle Path is a good alternative to the Red start full clear. The route starts on Blue Sentinel which you'll be killing with Counter Strike at level one. Once it is dead, unlock Empower next and proceed to clear the Gromp and Murk Wolves. Doing these gives you level three, unlocking Leap Strike. Move onto the Raptors next, after which you'll be killing the Red Brambleback and Krugs. These will give you enough experience for level four, so upgrade Empower. Lastly, check the river for Rift Scuttler and after killing it gank a nearby lane or invade the enemies' Raptor camp.
- This Jax Jungle Clear provides you with longer Red buff uptime after clearing the jungle and is particularly popular on Blue team because you get to path into Bottom lane as well as the Dragon.
