NEW Farming Guide (After Aug 22nd Patch) (2024)

Hello. My name is Spqceman. You might be wondering where I came from or why I would have enough knowledge to make a farming guide.

Regardless, Farming, as a skill, is somewhat simple to level up. However, Farming Fortune, Contests, Reforges, etc. can all be quite complicated. This guide will take you from Farming 1 to Farming 60!

Early Game

Early Game farming is going to be remarkably simple. You should be able to accumulate quite a few Farming levels just by farming wheat in the hub or other crops on the Farming Islands. After reaching Farming 10 and Wheat Milestone 3, you unlock Farm Armor, which grants you +40 Farming Fortune* for a full set and costs around 193k at the time of this guide. If you have the extra money, you will also want to purchase an Epic Rabbit Pet which will grant you +0.3 Farming Wisdom* per level, giving you +30 at Level 100.

After reaching Skyblock Level 5, Sam will visit your island asking for assistance with her Garden. Once you accept her offer, she will teleport you to the Garden and guide you through the basics. You will then need to select a starting crop and craft or purchase the correct tool used to harvest it. Wheat is a great starting crop and makes great money in the early stages of Farming. (Remember to use the plot presets to save a significant amount of time!) In this case, you would use the Euclid's Wheat Hoe which can be obtained by purchasing a Mathematical Hoe Blueprint from Anita and surrounding it with Wheat in the crafting table. You can also purchase one on the Auction House, if you have the money. You would then want to reforge it with the Blessed fruit, which can be purchased from the Smithmonger in the Hub and enchant it with Harvesting, Dedication, Replenish and Cultivating, if you can afford them. Replenish is the most important of those in the early game.

Your next step is to begin serving Visitors. Visitors arrive on the Garden every 15 minutes, though the timer counts down 3x faster when you are actively farming crops. After meeting certain visitor milestones, the time is then lowered to 12 minutes per visitor and still gives the 3x boost when actively farming. Visitors will request various amounts of crops in exchange for Farming Exp, Garden Exp, Bits and, most importantly, Copper which can be used to purchase items on the SkyMart at the Desk inside the Barn. You should first purchase a full set of Lotus equipment, which will cost 800 copper. Each equipment piece grants +5 Farming Fortune and another +1 each time you meet a new visitor milestone. You should then reforge them with Flowering Bouquets to further increase their Farming Fortune. These have a 2% chance to be offered by visitors. They can also be purchased at the Bazaar for around 600 coins.

Once you have reached Farming Level 25, you can craft (Melon Collection 9) or purchase the Melon armor set, which will significantly increase your Farming Fortune by +70 with a full set. This set also gives a 0.05% chance to obtain a Cropie when farming Wheat, Carrots or Potatoes. These can either be sold or used to create many other Farming items like talismans or the Cropie Armor, which is unlocked at Farming Level 30.

Mid-Game

After reaching Farming 30, you unlock the Cropie Armor set, which increases your Farming Fortune and gives you a 0.03% chance to obtain a Squash while farming Pumpkin, Melon or Cocoa Beans. Again, these can be sold or used to create the Squash Armor set unlocked at Farming Level 35. (Because of the small increase in Farming Fortune given by the Squash Armor set, I recommend using Cropie Armor until you reach Farming 40) The Cropie Armor Set should be reforged with the SkyMart Brochure purchased in the SkyMart for 100 copper each. This will give you even more Farming Fortune. After acquiring this armor, it is better to begin farming one of the three crops that drop Squash. Preferably melons as they make the most money currently. A Melon Dicer can be purchased from Anita or the Auction House. It should then be enchanted with Efficiency V(it will not insta-break melons without it), Delicate, Dedication, Sunder, Turbo-Melon V (assuming you have reached Silver in a Melon contest) and Cultivating. You also want to reforge it with the Blessed Fruit.

If you have enough copper, you could also purchase a Yellow Bandana from the SkyMart for 300 copper and apply it to your Rabbit pet to gain even more Farming Fortune.

Once you've reached Farming 40, you will want to purchase a Fermento Armor set and apply the SkyMart Brochure reforge to it. This will grant you a significant increase in Farming Fortune. It also combines the bonuses of wearing the Melon, Cropie and Squash armor allowing you to obtain those drops when farming the specific crops. You will also want to purchase a Legendary Elephant pet and give it a Yellow Bandana, or Green Bandana if you have one and are Garden Level 10 or above. You could also purchase a Mooshroom Cow which will grant you more Farming Fortune than the Elephant if you have more than 215 strength. Regardless, all of these things combined should allow you to begin getting Gold Medals in Jacob's Contests.

At this point, it is also better to invest in Rancher's Boots. In exchange for a temporary* slight decrease in Farming Fortune compared to Fermento Boots, you gain the ability to set your max speed which is necessary for some farms.

*The Rancher's Boots provide +1 Farming Fortune per Farming Level, meaning they actually provide more than Fermento above Farming Level 55.

Continue to serve visitors and purchase crop upgrades from the Desk to further increase crop specific Farming Fortune. In order to reach Garden Level 15 faster, you will also want to get an average crop milestone of around 23. Alongside visitors, you should have max Garden Level by the time you reach the average crop milestone.

Late/End Game

At this point, everything becomes significantly more expensive. There really is no order for these so I will just list them and you can check them off as you go.

• Reach Farming 50
• If you plan to go for Farming 60, begin accumulating the necessary tools as it requires a Gold Medal in each crop. Also, begin visiting other farmers with custom farms, like @MelonKingDe, as many Golds cannot be completed with the preset.
• Add Farming for Dummies books to your tools to add a bit more Farming Fortune.
• Recombobulate Fermento helmet, chestplate, leggings and Rancher's Boots.
• Purchase or craft a Fermento Artifact granting you + 30 Farming Fortune for every crop.
• Reforge all Lotus Equipment with Burrowing Spores to apply the Rooted reforge and recombobulate the equipment to further increase the Farming Fortune.
• Reforge Fermento/Rancher's Boots with the Mossy reforge. This will SIGNIFICANTLY increase your Farming Fortune, however, they cost roughly 75m EACH, or 300m total. If you're lucky, the Mossy reforge has a 0.1% chance to be offered by Garden Visitors. RNGesus could save you some serious Gold!
• Even more expensive: Enchant all Lotus Equipment with Green Thumb V, which costs 160m per book, or 640m total. *Green Thumb V is not necessary and lower Green Thumb levels will work just as fine with all the other steps completed. This is really overkill.*
